Documentation

This extension allows the use of the LIRC client library from Chicken.

(De)Initializing

procedure: (lirc:init PROG VERBOSE)
Initializes LIRC client library. PROG is the name of the program (the string that must be provided as prog in .lircrc to control this application). If VERBOSE is #t, error messages are printed by the library on stderr.
procedure: (lirc:read-config FILE)
Loads the configuration from FILE. If FILE is #f, loads the default configuration.
procedure: (lirc:deinit)
Frees all resources allocated by the library and disconnects from the LIRC daemon.

Reading from LIRC

procedure: (lirc:next-code)
Blocks until there is data available on the LIRC socket and returns it. Calling this function does not block other threads.
procedure: (lirc:code->strings CODE)
Returns the list of config strings the user has provided in the configuration loaded with lirc:read-config.

Examples

#!/usr/local/bin/csi -script

(require-extension lirc-client)

(lirc:init "test" #t)
(lirc:read-config #f)
(let loop ()
  (for-each print (lirc:code->strings (lirc:next-code)))
  (loop))
